Job Details
Our client is a company dealing with Agrochemicals, Veterinary Medicine, Seedlings, Equipment, Fertilizers and Agriculture in rural Tanzania.
We are looking for an experienced Chief Executive Officer or CEO to supervise and control all strategic and business aspects of the company dealing with Agrochemicals, veterinary Medicine, Seedlings, Equipment, Fertilizer and many other agriculture essential growth inputs. You will be the first in command in the company and responsible for giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating a vision for success.

To thrive as a CEO you must be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader in Agriculture inputs supportive materials. The ideal candidate will have a business mindset and will be able to see the “big picture” in a variety of settings. They will take actions to enhance the company’s cash flow while keeping the human factor in perspective

The Agrovert business distributes insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizer, and many other agriculture inputs where they markets these products in many regions of Tanzania. The crops fertilizer, Agrovert business is one of the fastest growing segments with over 90% of its turnover generated from selling within Tanzania.
The goal is to drive the company development and guide it towards long-term success.

CEO Duties and Responsibilities:
v The CEO will have the overall responsibility for the management of the Company and its human resource base on a day-to-day basis. The CEO shall ensure that activities follow the business plan and procedures, and that milestone and budgets are achieved.
v The CEO is responsible for the preparation of The Company’s business plan/strategic plan including operational budgets.
v The CEO is expected to act as the front figure of The Company and, as such, represent the directors and owners in the day-to-day running of the Company and shall therefore take the lead in profiling and selling The Company’s products, its concept and Mission & Vision in a professional way.
v The CEO reports to the Board at scheduled Board meetings and to the Chairman of the Board, or a person appointed by the chairman, as necessary.
v Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
v Lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement develop a high performing managerial team
v Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission
v Make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits
v Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics
v Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
v Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important shareholders
v Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
v Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company

Specific duties
General Operations & Personnel/Human Resources including the following specific responsibilities:
v Recruitment of the management team, procurement and financial control in consultation with the Board.
v Conduct formal appraisal minimum once a year on the performance of the core management team.
v Ensuring that a Human Resource policy is in place with Codes of Conduct in line with Tanzania labour laws. The Codes of Conduct shall be approved by the Board and shared with the staff.
v Development of Operational Manuals for the Company.
v Implementing cost efficient procurement in all aspects of the Company – including written agreements.
v Compliance with all public authorities’ regulations and licensing of The Company.
v All legal requirements of The Company and resolving eventual legal disputes as directed by the Board.

Sales & Marketing including the following specific responsibilities:
v Organizing and training of the local sales & maintenance teams to enable them meet the company expectation.
v Ensure there is development of the promotion sales material, such as brochures -banners – DVDs etc. Organise national campaigns as appropriate

Financial management including the following specific responsibilities:
v Approval of monthly financial reports showing total sales value, major cost components and net results per Solar Service Centre.
v Maintaining overall control of cash flow/financial transactions to secure maximum control in The Company.
v Develop annual operational and investment budgets as well as quarterly/monthly sales targets.
v Delivery of annual audit reports for The Company.
Requirements and skills
v Proven experience as CEO or in other managerial position
v Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
v Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
v Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.

We are seeking a highly capable management accountant to optimize our financial management policies. Qualified candidate will be performing financial analysis, preparing financial forecasts, and advising senior management on strategic planning.

To ensure success as a management accountant, candidate should exhibit extensive knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting and experience in a similar environment. An outstanding management accountant will be someone whose financial accounting and business management expertise translates into sustained business growth.

The role of Management Accountant is to provide relevant, professional input into the roles and functions above to ensure the Finance achieves its objectives. The specific role of Management Accountant will ensure that the management and financial reporting functions of company are effective, accurate and appropriate while ensuring the delivery of information on a timely basis to ensure that the finance team achieves its objectives. Expectations will be regularly discussed with qualified candidate once hired, will be fair and reasonable and within the broad requirements outlined above.

The Accounting & Finance team is responsible for the financial functions of the company. This includes preparation of annual reports, budgets, annual and long-term planning, rates, debtors and creditors services, payroll, insurance, investments and the internal job costing aspects of Council’s operations.

v Timely preparation of annual reports and budgets.
v Provision of significant and timely input into annual plan and long-term plan preparation and development.
v An effective, appropriate, and efficient rates section.
v Provision of accurate financial information as required.
v Presenting various financial reports to Council as and when required.
v Delivering an effective and efficient debtors and creditor’s service.
v Providing an effective and efficient payroll service.
v Oversees Council’s insurance and investment requirements

The key responsibilities of this role are to:
v Partner with budget holders, providing advice, support and monitoring across the company.
v Train budget holders in financial literacy principals when required.
v Provide accurate and timely financial management reporting.
v Prepare and review management reports and analysis of key trends.
v Analyse financial information, provide financial support to Section and Group Managers in preparation of internal and external reporting requirements.v Provide financial and accounting support ensuring financial data integrity for Annual Plan reporting process.
v Provide assistance to the Senior Group Accountant with the preparation and the Annual Financial Report.
v Regularly provide budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analyses, and internal consultative services to internal stakeholders / clients.
v Provide month end management reports.
v Create a positive and engaging work environment for all internal and external partners and stakeholders demonstrating professional courtesy.
v Timely assistance of the preparation of any working papers or balance sheet reconciliations for annual audit as required
v Provide financial support and back up to the other accountants as and when required.
v Develop and maintain effective client and business relationships.

The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, to day-to-day staff management and guests. He/She should be an ambassador for the brand and your hotel. Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction. Work Very closely with the hotel owners and other stake holders.

Responsible for managing the Hotels management team (HOD’s) and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest experience. A General Manager would also be required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures.

v Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the Organizational chart.
v Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments.

  • A university degree in hotel management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing or re-positioning a hotel with clear track record. Excellent computer system skills.
