Doctor of Dental Surgery/ Doctor of Dental Medicine

Job Summary:
Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
May treat diseases of nerve, pulp, and other dental tissues affecting oral hygiene and retention of teeth.
May fit dental appliances or provide preventive care.
This position may involve medical responses on a transport unit (ambulance) or on a remote setting/site.

Working Conditions
  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, patients, families, hospital staff, outside professional agencies, co-workers and supervisory personnel, whether volunteer or paid, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
  • May be exposed to stressful situations, such as death, dismemberment, total devastation and loss
  • May be required to hold over to cover emergencies and work overtime without advanced notice.
  • Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for prolonged periods of time and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines or uneven terrain.
  • Must be physically fit to perform job functions adequately as dictated by occupational health.
  • Be able to hear and understand at normal range levels.
  • May be required to use vehicles in the performance of duties. Vehicles are to include but not limited to: cars, trucks, and ambulances
  • On occasion may be required to perform stressful physical activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Engage in direct clinical practice as the principal component of his/her professional responsibility within the Department.
  • Provide medical assessment, diagnostic determination, and clinical management necessary to ensure appropriate clinical disposition of Emergency Department patients.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements.
  • Communicate with consulting providers as necessary to facilitate necessary ongoing care and treatment of patients.
  • Work to create a positive work culture within department and cross-departmental teams. 6. Examine patients’ medical records
  • Prepare patients for treatment
  • Check teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental problems
  • Prescribe medication as needed
  • Educate patients on proper brushing techniques, flossing and fluoride use 11. Promote good oral health and preventive dental care (e.g. by scheduling regular check-ups)

Radiology Technician/ Radiographer

We are looking for a skilled radiology technician to work with closely with patients when performing radiologic imaging procedures. The Radiology Technician’s responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients, positioning patients and equipment, performing examinations, developing film, and maintaining and operating specialized radiologic equipment. The Radiology Technician is also responsible for ensuring patients’ safety by covering any areas not being imaged to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation. You may become specialized in a particular radiographic procedure,such as MRI Technicians, CT Technicians, or MammographyTechnicians.

To be successful as a radiology technician, you should have strong technical skills, as well as good interpersonalskills when working with patients. You should be considerate and compassionate and have thephysical stamina to lift heavy equipment and physically disabled patients.

Radiology Technician Responsibilities:
  • Completing the patients’ intake process, taking patients’ histories, and preparing and educating patientsabout the imaging procedure.
  • Reviewing patients’ charts and Doctors’ notes before the examination, and maintaining patients’ recordsduring and after procedures.
  • Preparing radiopharmaceuticalsfor contrast in the diagnostic images.
  • Positioning patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
  • Monitoring patients and ensuring their safety during imaging procedures.
  • Calibrating the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area, as specified bythe Doctor.
  • Logging and organizing image results, developing film, assisting with the interpretation of the radiograph results, and consulting with Radiologists to determine if other images need to be taken.
  • Ensuring the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintaining radiographic equipment,and reporting any equipment failures.
  • Coordinating with the radiology department to schedule and complete radiographic procedures.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of current radiology practices.

Radiology Technician Requirements
  • An associate’s(diploma) or bachelor’s degree in radiography, diagnostic radiotherapy or radiologictechnology.
  • A state license and certification to practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.
  • The physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance.
  • The flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays
