JOB OPPORTUNITY
Title: Nutritionist
Schedule: Full-Time
Ministry Function:
The Nutritionist supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope (C0H) by working under the leadership of the Tanzania National Director to successfully identify nutrition problems and plan appropriate actions to address them within COH’s Children’s Feeding Initiative (CFI). This involves the assessment of nutritional status and implementation of programs, including dissemination of social behavior change communication (SBCC) messages to improve the overall health of mothers and children and their families in COH Program Centers, surrounding communities, and other identified project sites. The Nutritionist is responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance, advancement, and provision of technical support for all nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programs. The Nutritionist will also support the Tanzania National Director in report preparation regarding all COH nutrition-sensitive or nutrition-specific interventions.
Recommended:
The Nutritionist will be knowledgeable of Tanzania nutrition trends and best practices in nutrition. S/he will perform frequent travel to CFI Program Centers and other COH project sites within Tanzania
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess the nutritional needs of CFI participants and as requested by the Tanzania National Director, and the nutritional needs of other GP program participants.
- Facilitate training sessions for program leaders, volunteers, and program beneficiaries (children and adults) on nutrition, health, and WASH related topics.
- Monitor WASH behaviors, including food preparation and service, according to COH CFI standards.
- Collect data from Program Centers, as requested by the Tanzania National Director.
- Advise Tanzania National Director on WASH improvements that need to be made at Program Centers and other GP project sites.
- Advise in procurement of healthy foods and products for CFI.
- Collaborate with Tanzania Ministry of Health (MOH)to stay current on local, regional, and country-level nutrition and health trends, laws, policies, and initiatives.
- Advise Tanzania National Director on possible partnerships with other like-minded NGOs and the Tanzania MOH to achieve CFI program specifications and improve nutrition integration across other GP programs.
- Conduct preliminary research (including policy research, anthropometry, household surveys and key informant interviews) and baseline assessments at sites of potential or new Program Centers. Participate in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all nutrition and health related components of COH’s women’s empowerment and agriculture programs.
- Produce and submit high-quality reports.
- Troubleshoot problems/challenges that arise in the field.
- As a member of the Global Program team, supports other programs as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in nutrition sciences, dietetics, or a related field with training in the following areas:

Ministry Function:
The Office Driver supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope (COH) by working under the leadership of the Tanzania National Director to transport people and goods from the COH office to assigned destinations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive all organizational vehicles with excellence to ensure safety.
- Ensure the general state of each vehicle has been checked before and after use.
- Keep vehicles clean and in good condition at all times.
- Ensure all required documents for the vehicle are valid and safely kept.
- Ensure the availability of tool kit, fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit, and spare tire.
- Carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are sound.
- Perform periodic maintenance on vehicle, such as changing batteries and motor oil at appropriate times, as well as refuelling the car.
- Report every case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to supervisor.
- Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance.
- Keep a travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and mileage.
- Dress professionally and in accordance with COHT dress code.
- Ensure all statutory documents are available and are current
- Ensure all necessary tools for the vehicle are available.
- Prepare monthly vehicle report and submit it to Tanzania National Director
- Support the visits of volunteers and teams.
- As a member of the Global Program team, other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of High school certificate or equivalent, with driving certificate preferred from country accredited institution
- Valid Professional driver’s license (Class C) required for driving specified office vehicles
- At least 5 year(s) of experience driving.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have sufficient initiative and self-direction to work without constant supervision.
- High respect for institutional property, protecting it and taking care of it as if it were its own property.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle deadlines for work delivery.
- Must follow all safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the organization and the country.
- Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift.
