Tearfund a Christian based International NGO, is looking for a Regional Influencing lead for the Southern and East Africa Region (SEA) witha specific focus on Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.

The Influencing Lead is responsible for leading, managing, representing and setting the overall direction of Tearfund's strategy, networking, advocacy and influencing work. Influencing long term change within the geographical remit of Souhern and East Africa Region) is the key function of this role.

The Influencing Lead is responsible for Tearfund's work of envisioning and strengthening the Church, advocating with national authorities, participation in Integral Mission and influencing change in churches, government, society and countries in line with Tearfund's vision, strategy, corporate priority areas and policies and procedures.

The Regional Influencing Lead role is key in the organisation's vision of ending poverty through the provision of high quality support , a mature, experienced and highly motivated operations person is required to:
  • Lead, manage, represent and set the overall direction of strategy, networking, advocacy and influencing work.
  • Work with local church-based organisations and devise mobilisation approaches through envisioning and strengthening the Church, advocating with national authorities, participation in Integral Mission and influencing change in churches, government, society and countries
  • Facilitate sensitive theological conversations among diverse theological perspectives and faith styles.
  • Implement and work in accordance with corporate structures, policies and practices
  • Oversee the strategic planning, project management and budget management
  • Influence change, via networking, opinion shaping and/or policy making
  • Have deep understanding of and engagement with Integral Mission theology

Please note: This is a fixed term contract of 3 Years with a preference for the role to be based in Zambia. Applicants must possess the right to live and work in Zambia, Kenya or Tanzania.
