Job Purpose:
Driving strategy and agile execution of operations of the bank's technology infrastructure while ensuring operational availability, performance, scalability, recoverability and continuous improvement of these infrastructures in a cost-effective manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop short-term, medium term and long-term technology infrastructure strategies for the bank. Oversee further, agile development and implementation of a technology infrastructure roadmap, including key prioritization and sequencing of key systems to support the bank's strategic goals.
  • Participate in the formulation of the banks enterprise architecture landscape, operating model and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility in-line with bank's strategy.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team members
  • Leadership in ensuring that the infrastructure for branch power systems (i.e. UPS, Inverters, and Generators), datacenters MEP and facilities, compute, storage, networks, servers, databases and hybrid integration platforms are operating optimally 24/7 with KPI compliance.
  • Responsible for managing overall Technology Infrastructure day-to-day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance and end-user satisfaction.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
  • Manage strategic relationships with key Technology product and service providers.
  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and composable solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Enable innovation and seek to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the bank's complex requirements and expectations.
  • Develop enterprise-wide policies, processes and standards as well as the Technology Infrastructure operations governance and control processes.
  • Conduct product and vendor evaluations ensuring best in class technologies and partners for successful business operations.
  • Development and overseeing SMART metrics for the infrastructures to ensure effective capacity and performance is in place to meet or exceed business needs.
  • Development of an annual OPEX & CAPEX budget for Technology Infrastructure space and ensure it is managed and tracked appropriately.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to present technical data in a comprehensive, yet clear manner.
  • Hands-on experience in the following domains servers, virtualization, networks, database, hybrid integration platforms, branch power systems
  • Knowledge of infrastructure agnostic platforms i.e. HCI, Oracle PCA and emerging next generation Infrastructure Technologies.
  • Sound understanding of network systems and related solutions
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English and Kiswahili
  • Demonstrate leadership and personnel management skills.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related academic field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in a large and complex enterprise environment which includes 5 years in a management position.
  • Working experience in leading large initiatives and/or teams in technology infrastructure areas within organizations of a similar scale or equivalent client-service experience in the field.
  • Experience with comprehensive disaster recovery architecture and operations, including storage area network and redundant, highly-available server and network architectures.

Sr Manager Product and Implementation (Re-advertised) (1 Position(s))
Job Purpose:

To manage complex implementations of digital transaction services and trade finance solutions.
This function entails expertise in implementations and project management as well as a practical understanding of the overall cash management, trade and supply chain solutions to drive improved deal cycle times and enhance revenue realization.

The role ensures the client's expectations are met, by aligning with cross functional teams in creating an accurate project plan, validating scope, ensuring achievement of all milestones of the project or initiatives, tracking, and communicating progress, capturing issues and risks, maintaining action plan with follow-ups and ultimately delivering the solution on time and within budget

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage Digital Global Transaction Services and Trade Finance in the solution design and project prioritization
  • Provide project management leadership for assigned complex transaction services and Trade Finance implementations
  • Liaise with Technology, Operations and Client Segment for standard activities as part of complex deals
  • Manage required client and legal documentation during the project
  • Provide training to clients for all complex deals implemented
  • Conduct a post implementation review with the client for all complex deals along with Relationship Managers / Product Managers
  • Complete handover to Client Service Delivery and collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve post implementation queries/issues
  • Drive optimal execution cycles and revenue realization while continuously seeking opportunities to re-engineer processes to improve turnaround times for implementation dependencies.
  • Drive compliance awareness, lead operational risk and governance within Transaction Banking
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on root cause analysis and resolution of incidents
  • Support periodical review of internal policies, product programs, procedures and compliance of regulations
  • Remain abreast of developments in Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Trade Based Money Laundering (TBML) risks and mitigants.
  • Participate in internal and external stakeholder engagements as subject matter expert
  • Ensure seamless and timely execution and service delivery to clients
