Mission and objectives
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

Context
Support identification and mapping of conflict sensitivity areas as well as generating lessons on how WFP can remain conflict sensitive in conflict situations, including through sudden onset spikes within the conflict that could maximize the contribution towards peace building and social cohesion.

Task description

•Support identification and mapping of conflict sensitivity areas as well as generating lessons on how WFP can remain conflict sensitive in conflict situations, including through sudden onset spikes within the conflict that could maximize the contribution towards peace building and social cohesion. •Support KIGOMA Field Office’s efforts to improve the conflict sensitivity capacity of a cohort of key staff in WFP Tanzania Country office programme; •Assist in conducting research, desk reviews, proof reading and knowledge management products. This might include data transcription, coding, analysis, visualization and reporting for gender and protection analyses and studies. •Support and follow up on the capacity building need of cooperating partners and national government under the KJP, as required. •Hold regular meetings at field level with the KJP agriculture partners to meet the changing needs and expectations of partners, allowing all partners to actively participate in and con- tribute to decisions and adjustments needed. •Provide efficient and specialized project management support to a range of specific and/or defined programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures. •Provide specialized project management support to the KJP- post-harvest handling related programs to ensure that activities are performed within the targets including a well-defined work plan on trainings, equipment ordering, payment and timely deliveries to farmer beneficiaries. •In collaboration with project coordinator support the process of data collection and re-port submission from the UN partners. This may include compiling, analyzing and pro-ducing consolidated reports. Ensure the implementation plans, quarterly and annual budgets, progress reports and program documents are regularly updated and meet quality standards for internal use and external dissemination. •Perform other related duties as required.

Kigoma Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The regional capital is the city of Kigoma. According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 2,127,930. The Region resides in the northwestern corner of Tanzania, on the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika. The region is bordered to the north by both Burundi and the Kagera Region. To the east, it is bordered by the Shinyanga and Tabora regions, to the south by the Rukwa Region, and to the west by Lake Tangan-yika, which forms a border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kigoma urban has reasonable access to social services including health, water and education although they are limited to the programme districts namely Kakonko, Kibondo, Kasulu and Uvinza. The volunteer will be expected to live in Kigoma Urban. His/her duties and responsibilities entail travelling between and within the assigned district/s in the programme area and other regions including Do-doma, Dar-es-salaam and Zanzibar.
