OVERVIEW
The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania entered into a Contract for the Upgrading of Bagamoyo – (Makurunge) – Saadani – Pangani – Tanga (256km) to Bitumen Standard, LOT 1: Pangani – Tanga Section (50Km). The Contract period is 24 months and Defects Liability Period of 12 months.
The Regional Manager’s Office TANROADS – Tanga, on behalf of the Chief Executive, TANROADS, intends to recruit qualified and competent Staff to fill the following vacant posts below on specific duties short-term contracts within the Region:
Successful applicants must be ready to work for considerable lengths of time in Pangani, Muheza and Tanga Districts within the project area if situations warrant.
POSITION TITLE: MATERIAL ENGINEER (1 POST)
Educational/Professional qualifications:-
- Must be a holder of Bachelor Degree in civil or material engineering from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/colleges;
- Must be Registered with ERB as Professional Engineer
- A postgraduate qualification in Pavement or Materials engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA Condition of contract is an added advantage
- Computer literate

Work Experience:- At least 10 years of General experience in Pavement/Materials related to road design and construction;
- Served in a similar Capacity on at least Two (2) projects of road construction similar magnitude in the last ten (10) Years;
- He/she must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub – Sahara Counties;
- Shall Head the site staff and shall be responsible for all technical and administrative aspect on site.
- Self motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision;
- Fluent in English is mandatory; Age Limit: 35 years and above.
POSITION TITLE: HIGHWAY ENGINEER (1 POST)
Educational/Professional qualifications:-
- Must have a Bachelor Degree in civil or highway engineering or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/colleges;
- Must be Registered with ERB as Professional Engineer
- A postgraduate qualification in highway engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA Condition of contract is an added advantage
- Computer literate;
Work Experience:
- At least 10 years of cumulative experience related to road design and construction;
- Served in Similar Capacity for at least three (3) projects of construction roads of similar magnitude and complexity in Sub – Sahara Counties for the last ten (10) Years
- Shall comprise road surveys, construction of pavement structure, measuring of quantities and management of site operation.
- Self motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision;
- Fluent in English Language
- Must be a Tanzanian Citizen
- Should be 35 years of age or above
POSITION TITLE: Works Inspector- Road Works (2 POST)
Educational/Professional qualifications:-
- Must have a Bachelor Degree in civil engineering or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/colleges;
- Registered with ERB as Graduate/Professional Engineer
- Computer literate;

Educational/Professional qualifications:-
- Must have a Certificate in secretarial Service or equivalent from any recognized Learning Institution/colleges;

- At least 3 years cumulative experience related to clerical/ secretarial works
- Self motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision;
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory;
- Must be a Tanzanian Citizen;

POSITION TITLE: Topographical/Land Surveyor
Educational Professional qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor degree in land surveying or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/colleges;
• He/she must be a Registered Land surveyor
• Must be a computer literate;
Work Experience:
• At least eight (8) years cumulative experience of conducting surveying works:
• Served as a Topographical/Land Surveyor in at least two (2) road construction
• project of similar magnitude and complexity in the last eight (8) years,
• He/she must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub – Sahara Countries;
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory;
• Must be a Tanzanian Citizen;
• Age Limit: 30 years and above.
POSITION TITLE: Structure/Drainage Engineer
Educational Professional qualifications
• Must be a Bachelor Degree in civil, bridge or structural engineering or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/colleges;
• Must be Registered with ERB as Professional Engineer
• A postgraduate qualification in civil engineering or highway engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA
• Condition of contract is an added advantage
• Computer literate;
Work Experience:
• At least 10 years cumulative experience related to road/ Bridge design and construction; Served as a structure/drainage Engineer for at least Two (2) road project of similar magnitude and complexity in the last ten (10) Years,
• He/she must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub-Saharan Counties;
• Shall Head the site staff and shall be responsible for ensuring the bridges and
• other drainage structures are constructed according to design and conform to the contract specifications.
• Self motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision;
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory:
• Must be a Tanzanian Citizen;
• Age Limit: 35 years and above.
